What are Ozlandish Writings?

From July 2010 to December 2014 we ran OZLAND PICTURE STORIES as described below. Sadly though the number of writers reduced over the years and we decided to call it a day. We leave these as a record of the good times we had.

Are "You" ready to challenge your writing skills? Then participate in our OZLAND Picture Stories writing series at The Ozland Art Gallery.

Each month a new picture will be picked, from our OZLAND Artist of the Month collection, with different themes. Your goal is to write a 500-1000 word... poem... essay... or story about the picture picked. This is a chance for you to challenge your writing skills each month. Story can be written in ANY genre... sci fi... romance... ghost... fantasy... fiction... non-fiction... biography... mystery... historical... whatever your writing genre... feel free to experiment. Send your writing inworld to Sven Pertelson as a notecard to have it included on the web site. We meet at the The Ozland Art Gallery each Wednesday at Noon and 6pm SLT to read the latest submissions on voice. More Information

What Community in SL means to me by Lillian Morpork

What Community in SL means to me
by Lillian Morpork

I’m not quite sure that I actually belong to any community in sl. If so, it’s the Christian community at Eternal Creations. That is where my grandson has his Club AnSky, with dances several times a week.

I attend the dances, though I just sit and look on. But it’s fun, because we have a group that is friendly, and willing and able to give and take in teasing and laughter.

I have made friends there. One I have actually met in real life, and found that we got along as well in person as we do in avatar. I would like to meet others in person, too.

The only other place I go in SL is Ozland, and have friends there from different countries around the world. That is another thing that I find great about SL. I get to talk to people in the UK, France, Germany, Australian and many other countries.

In Ozland, we all have the same goal – to write stories, inspired by the picture of the month. Many truly great tales have been told there, and a lot of good poetry, too.

I guess this all goes to show that the various communities in SL are a good idea. There seems to be something for everyone.
